Release version 1.2
Published: 2024-01-27
Changelog
Our first release for 2024 with many more exciting changes to come within this year.
In our latest release version 1.2, we have a couple of highlights for you:
GitHub Open source templates
We had the ability to add new files from templates in Schema Visualizer for a while now, as of today, we are fetching our templates as open source from our public GitHub repository. You can find the repository here: https://github.com/hubql/templates
The templates are available for the following file types:
- JSON
- XML
- Prisma
- Proto
- GraphQL
We are also open to contributions to the repository, so if you have a template that you want to share with the community, please feel free to open a pull request. Contribution guidelines are in the ReadMe of the repository.
We will be adding more templates over the next couple of weeks, so stay tuned. Also looking forward to your contributions.
Prisma language server
In version 1.2, we are introducing a whole new Prisma language server integrated into our code editor.
The new Prisma language server enables you to write Prisma files with syntax highlighting, auto-completion, and error highlighting.
We are still experimenting with the Prisma language server to decide to open-source or combine with existing libraries in the future.
Alongside the new Prisma language server we also made more improvements to the code editor for GraphQL and JSON editing experience with syntax and error highlighting.
Paid plans
We also launched our first paid plan for Schema Visualizer.
The paid plan is available for $9.99 per month and includes the following features:
- Unlimited Hubs
- Up to 5 connected private GitHub repositories
- Customer Success Manager
We also introduced the following limitations for our free plan:
- Max. 1 workspace editor
- 3 Hubs

- Support: Chat & Discord Community, Docs
Both plans include the following features:

We are looking forward to your feedback on the new paid plan and the limitations of the free plan. You can find our pricing page here: https://www.hubql.com/pricing
Invitation list
As of version 1.2 you can now see the list of invited users to Schema Visualizer when sharing a Hub or a file and when inviting users to your workspace. This applies to users the are not registred to Schema Visualizer yet.
Export improvements
In the past our export feature was limited to exporting the visualization viewport on transparent background only.
Now you can export the visualization with a colored background as well as setting you own file name as your export Schema Visualizer's visualization.
We have more controls and improvements planned for the export feature in the future, such as the export of the complete visualization.
UX Improvements
This release also includes a bunch of additional UX and performance improvements:
- Support of more nested JSON files
- More feedback on errors and success messages
- More visible save button

Next
In the next release we will be releasing a fully new way to interact with Schema Visualizer using our Schema Visualizer CLI. Stay tuned for a separate announcement on this.
Besides we are working to improve our onboarding including a new interactive tutorial, multi-file support and more soon.
